This has been the joyous cry of Christians for centuries. But what does it mean? The Scriptures tell us on Easter Sunday following the Lord Jesus’ crucifixion and death the previous Friday, He was raised back to life. He was resurrected. He walked out of His tomb. A group of women, who believed the Lord Jesus was indeed the Son of God and the Savior of the world, went out to Jesus’ tomb early Sunday morning. Their purpose was to properly prepare the dead body of Jesus for permanent burial. When the women arrived at the tomb, they found it empty. Jesus was not there. Bewildered, excited, and afraid, the women along with many others would soon see Jesus alive. We as Christians believe that Jesus is still alive and will be for all eternity. This is Easter. It’s the highest celebration of Christendom. It’s what I believe. I hope you do, too.
Blessed Easter to you and yours.
